No Place but Colorado!

The Gunnison Valley is one of the best kept secrets in Colorado. Water abounds in this area, as well as thousands of acres of public lands available for hiking, mountain biking, camping, and just about every other outdoor activity imaginable.

Dominated by the Elk Mountains, which top out above 14,000 feet in the northeast, the area has literally thousands of trails that traverse the countryside and criss-cross the Continental Divide. Follow these jeep trails and old mining roads to enjoy and explore this pristine region of Colorado. Nearby wilderness areas, like the West Elks and Fossil Ridge give backpackers limitless recreation possibilities.

Gold Medal trout fishing is available on the Gunnison and Taylor rivers. Lake trout and Kokanee Salmon fishing abound on Blue Mesa Reservoir. The Taylor reservoir in picturesque Taylor Park offers exceptional fishing, as well as camping and off-road adventure opportunities.

The list goes on and on, horseback riding, white water rafting, some of the best motorcycling in the country and numerous summer and fall festivals make the Gunnison area a "must see" area for your vacation.
